Tastes from the Heart 2019
Please join the 2018 Dallas Association of Young Lawyers’ Leadership Class for “Tastes from the Heart 2019,” a food and culture festival benefiting Heart House on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. This festival will celebrate the countries and the cultures of the children at Heart House. Attendance is FREE - Just make sure to RSVP! Come stop by or stay a while and enjoy food from local vendors, music, live entertainement, and a showcase of Heart House by the very own students themselves! To arrive at the Embarcadero building at Fair Park, look for the "Gate 3" entrance. Heart House is a nonprofit organization that uses education as a catalyst to combat poverty and promote equity for the most vulnerable in our city: immigrant and refugee children. Heart House’s model simultaneously addresses a range of needs including trauma-recovery and social-emotional learning. Operating in the middle of Dallas’ largest and most diverse refugee neighborhoods, Heart House’s core values center on providing culturally relevant services and parent and community-engagement. Every year, Heart House provides free afterschool and summer programming to 240 K-8th grade children, helping them move from chaos to a sense of calm. In alignment with DAYL values of promoting cultural diversity, the 2018 DAYL Leadership Class could not be more excited to have selected Heart House as its nonprofit partner for this first ever city-wide celebration!
