Plants for Pollinators

Saturday, April 20, 2019, 10:00 PM

Love pollinators? Even in a small garden space, you can make a positive impact on our pollinator population and our ecosystems from what you can learn in this free class. You might already know how much pollinators love flowering perennials, but did you know that grasses are just as valuable? There are so many annuals, trees, vines and shrubs that provide food and habitat sources for our highly important pollinators. In addition to bees and butterflies, there are hummingbirds, bats, and many other insects that ensure the survival of plants by spreading pollen and creating habitat. NHG's Events Coordinator Dana Wilson shows you the many options to make your garden welcome to a variety of wildlife. Dana Wilson is a native Dallasite, and she attended Lake Highlands High School, TCU, and UNT.  She is a member of the North Texas Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist Program and the Dallas chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas. She joined North Haven Gardens as a Garden Advisor in 2016, and is now Events Coordinator, scheduling all of NHG's custom, private events.  For additional information or to request an event, see our Private Events page.
