Gardening for Hummingbirds

Saturday, April 20, 2019, 8:00 PM

Want to learn more about the fascinating hummingbirds?  One of our most popular presentations, Carolyn Oldham and Jerri Kerr walk you through creating proper habitat with appropriately chosen plants to attract not only the native, but also the many visiting hummingbirds that we have in North Texas. They'll also show you the plants available right now, and help you understand the elements needed in your own landscape to sustain hummingbirds. (Hint: It's more than sugar water). Arrive early for the best seat, and learn how to be prepared for the spring and fall migrations of this valued pollinator! Carolyn Oldham has been in the gardening business since 1993, including working 10 years at North Haven Gardens and owning her own landscape company, Natural Habitats for the past 15 years. She enjoys tennis, gardening, and of course, birdwatching, with a lifetime goal to plant every plant and see every bird! Jerri and Carolyn are Collin County Audubon Society members.  Support the wonderful work being done by Audubon Texas not just for hummingbirds, but much, much more.
