Figure and Abstract Figure Workshop will be taught by teachers Alison Aldrich and Mary Morgan . GOAL: To study the figure through drawing and painting. DATES: JUNE 7 & 8 2019 (FRIDAY AND SATURDAY) TIME: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM COST: $195 plus supplies ACTIVITY: Students will study through observation drawing the figure from a live model using a variety of drawing mediums: graphite pencil, charcoal, and any other drawing mediums are welcome to encourage experimentation. Students will learn how to create an abstract painting by using the drawing information from the first session. The process will involve collage, redrawing, and the use of color theory to develop an abstract figure painting. SUPPLY LIST: Drawing Supplies: (1) 18x24 drawing pad; (2) Two #2B graphite pencils; (3) Two each # 4B and 6B charcoal pencils; (4) one kneaded eraser; (5) Thick and thin charcoal sticks; (6) Any other drawing supplies you want or have conte or colored pencils Painting Supplies: (1) one 18x24 foam core board; (2) one canvas board or stretched canvas 18x24 or larger/ or one 22x30 sheet of watercolor paper; (3) your choice of paints, acrylic assorted package must have black and white; watercolor/ gouache or water base oil paints. If you wish to make your painting a mixed medium painting you may use a combination of these paints; (4) Home Depot brushes - one one inch, one two inch and one four inch, plus one package of assorted long handle brushes that has a round and flat brush with an assortment of brush sizes nothing too small. If you using watercolor/gouache I have some brushes for those paints you may use. Newsprint and glue will be supplied for you.
